The Bookish Book

The Bookish Synopsis

Louise wishes
she could be slim, pretty and popular. So she can't believe it when it seems her wish is coming true. If only it didn't all cost so much . . .

Dara wishes
she could go back in time, and change everything. But she's married now, and nothing can change that. Can it?

Rosie wishes
she knew how to make her children happy. Even though they're both grown up with their own lives, they seem to need her more than ever.

Three very different women, about to make a journey that will change their lives forever. You should be careful for what you wish for . . .

My Bookish Idea

I love beautiful book covers. I love . . . in synopsises. I love cheap books. And I love buying books with those three things in them.

The tagline at the back of the book "I'd rather be reading Melissa" rings true. At least, for me. Melissa Hill is good. I even have another two Melissa titles sitting on my bookshelf now.

Although the concept of intertwining the stories of different individuals together in one novel is not new, it seems new in Wishful Thinking. The intertwining is done so effortlessly that I feel as though I'm reading about one person yet at the same time, the three individuals appear to have their own different characteristics.

Reading Wishful Thinking, I'm reminded of how our lives can be connected to each other even in the most unusual way. I'm reminded that even if we're all very different people, somehow we are still one.

If you're looking for a good, addictive read, Wishful Thinking will be a good choice.

My Bookish Rating

8/10

"Real love was about being together, witnessing the minutiae of
one another's day-to-day lives, forging memories like these."
